Sometimes it is not possible for your family to wait and schedule an appointment with your doctor. That is why we offer Walk-In services at many of our locations with no appointment required.
Genesis Medical Associates, Inc. is proud to offer more services than an average primary care practice. One of these additions takes the form of walk-in services, which are available at most of our locations. You can find more details about walk-in services on our individual location pages under the “Locations” tab on our website.
Genesis Medical Associates defines walk-in services as providing convenient care for patients who don’t want to (or cannot) wait for a scheduled doctor appointment. Utilizing these services allows you to save money on lower priced services than what you would find at the average urgent care center. It also offers patients the opportunity to see the same doctors they normally see in our Genesis Medical Associates network!
Walk-in services are nearly identical to those offered during an office visit. This means any non-emergent health issue (including cold and flu, allergies, sprains, aches and pains, etc.) can be seen at one of our locations.
Additionally, as part of your walk-in service visits, follow-ups are scheduled as needed with the same provider that you initially saw. This ensures that your continuity of care is thoroughly maintained. Also, this helps you save time and money that you would otherwise spend discussing your appointment history with a new doctor at an Urgent Care Center! Your copay is the same that you would pay at your PCP and not that high urgent care copay.
Our walk-in services provide care to a patient whose illnesses or injuries are not life-threatening, but who can’t wait to schedule an appointment with a primary care physician who can treat them. If we have trouble booking a same-day appointment for you, or your normal practice has closed for the day, our walk-in services at one of our other locations can offer an alternative source of care.
Patients should use walk-in services if they are experiencing symptoms such as the following:
While there is overlap in the kinds of conditions that walk-in services and ERs treat, it is important to note that ERs offer 24/7/365 emergency hospital care. If you have symptoms of a potentially life-threatening condition such as a stroke or heart attack or are experiencing acute or severe symptoms of an illness, you should go to the ER instead of using our walk-in services.
